Fond du Lac,
WI (January 30, 2004) – Project X remains
ultra cool, but it just got a little less
mysterious.
Mercury Marine has added a Project X section
to its Web site that divulges some of the
propulsion system’s key features. Photos,
video and descriptions of the revolutionary
new FourStroke and its features are all accessible
on the pages, providing a sneak preview of
the closely guarded endeavor.
The engine
has been demonstrated far and wide for more
than a year, but virtually no one outside
the company has been privy to its technology
or even its true name. Both will be revealed
Feb. 12 by Mercury President Patrick Mackey
and Brunswick Corporation Chairman and CEO
George Buckley at the Miami International
Boat Show in the Mercury Marine booth. Brunswick
is the parent company of Mercury Marine.
The Project

After the product is unveiled in Miami, the
site content will immediately switch to full-reveal
of the engine, complete with under-the-cowl
